ORDERING A HANDCRAFTED CUSTOM ROD to be built by Dennis, the process is much the same as above in the design, function, handle thickness and length, thread colors, pattern and the inscription. I will build the rod for a labor charge of $75 plus the components you select. Please allow about 2 weeks for completion. These rods make for a wonderful gift item for Birthdays, Christmas, Anniversary, or Retirement and the overall costs generally are always less than factory built comparable rods and will have equal or superior hardware. Many times the rod can be designed over the telephone for out-of-towners and be shipped for minimal additional costs. GIFT CERTIFICATES AVAILABLE – Unsure what specific rod/reel to purchase for someone - use a gift certificate! They can bring in the certificate and together we can design the perfect rod with the costs adjusted by what components they select. ROD REPAIRS – Dennis will repair rods with new rod guides, tip tops, and even replace handles and reel seats on rods of decent quality (can be time consuming!). General purpose guides and tip tops are about $5 - $8 with labor of about $7.50. CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED – Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover cards accepted. GENERAL INFORMATION – Assist you in planning trips (not a booking agent!) with suggestions and comments of people with experience. A grassed ‘casting area’ is immediately out the back door with various targets for testing rods, lines and if time is available, some advice on your casting. Those having a desire to enter the world of fly fishing we offer formal fly fishing and casting instruction at a nominal fee of $35/hour – hour and a half each in which you will learn about the equipment needed, the equipment you will want to have, and the stuff you will eventually have, conducted in the shop. Every Monday Herb Mossman conducts fly tying instruction from 5: p.m. to 8: p.m. free of charge with idea’s shared and technique for the beginner to the experienced fly tier. |
