Harry Lane of San Juan Troutfitters has been guiding for over 27 years. His primary activities include 10 months of guiding and teaching schools on the world class San Juan River below Navajo Dam in NW New Mexico, between mid March and the end of November. From late January through mid March, Harry may be found guiding and/or teaching fly fishing schools on the Guadalupe River, below Canyon Dam in the Texas Hill Country, one of the only potentially year round trout fisheries in that state!

As for the saltwater scene, Harry acts as group leader on an annual late winter/early spring fly fishing trip to Casa Blanca Lodge on the shores of the Caribbean, 120 miles south of Cancun. He has visited Casa Blanca six times to date. This trip targets bonefish, permit, tarpon and snook. What a wonderful contrast in fightability between these elusive species! The waters of Ascension Bay have been chosen as it provides over 200 miles of shoreline with endless flats ranging from vary shallow to no more than six feet deep! Harry is hoping to begin annual trips to the Bahamas primarily for BIG bonefish, but permit, tarpon and various species of snapper and jacks are also available, depending upon time of year.
